Four human figures move towards one another to form a group: With his sculpture Diversi-Team Juan Sajid Imao won the competition for art in a public space sponsored by Deutsche Knowledge Services. The 10-foot work was recently installed in Taguig City, Manila, in front of the headquarters of DKS, the Deutsche Bank subsidiary in the Philippines. Stefan Krause, Deutsche Bank Group Chief Financial Officer, has presented Diversi-Team to the public for the first time. Imano sculptures can be found in many places in Manila. For example, his 30-foot statue of the national hero and freedom fighter Lapu-Lapu is located at Rizal Park.
Diversi-Tteam is a symbolic representation of togetherness across all ethnic, religious and cultural borders. Depending on the angle the work is viewed from, parts of the dynamic figures, made of stainless steel or aged copper, overlay one another. The sculpture seems to be the ideal means of expressing the diversity idea, which plays a key role for Deutsche Bank. Promotion of art and music has always been an integral part of Deutsche Bank's social involvement in Asia. An example is the project Rock Ed, initiated by DKS employees, which encourages street kids in Manila to make music. The children discover their own potential and take advantage of opportunities with more self-confidence.
