Deutsche Bank has been sponsoring the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) for ten years. Part of this funding includes a grant for an exceptional artist from the state of New York. The Deutsche Bank Fellow, selected by an independent jury, receives a monetary prize, and one of the artist's works is purchased for the Deutsche Bank Collection. To support New York-based artists not born in the USA, NYFA initiated its Mentoring Program for Immigrant Artists, in which NYFA Fellows help colleagues to establish themselves in New York and to make contacts with the art scene there. Deutsche Bank has also been supporting this innovative project for the past two years. In addition to this, starting in April 2009, a selection of works by the artists participating in the 2008 program will be shown at Deutsche Bank's 60 Wall Street Gallery. As varied as the media and styles of the participating artists are, the exhibition demonstrates that New York's power of attraction for the international art community has remained constant.
